Video Assignments: Argument, Not Just Production

EVENT

Event Details

A student can produce a polished video without ever making a real argument. The editing is clean, the music is nice, and nothing of substance has happened. This session is about the design decisions that prevent that. We will cover what makes a video assignment require genuine intellectual work, where AI fits responsibly in the production process, and how to scaffold the assignment so that structure, narration choices, and camera work all force students to take a position and defend it. Practical guidance on production basics and DMS resources included.

This live session will be virtual via Microsoft Teams. Please register for the event to receive the Teams link.
