UofL Out of the Darkness Campus Walk

The University of Louisville’s 2026 Out of the Darkness Walk is a powerful way for our campus community to come together around mental health. It will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Red Barn Plaza, with registration and programming beginning at 4:00 p.m. and the opening ceremony and walk starting at 5:30 p.m.

This event supports important work in research, education, public policy advocacy, and programs for those who have lost someone to suicide. But beyond the funding, it’s also about people. It’s about honoring those we’ve lost, showing up for those who may be struggling, and reminding one another that no one has to go through hard things alone. By walking together, we help reduce stigma, start meaningful conversations, and continue building a campus culture rooted in care, compassion, and mental health awareness. Whether you walk in memory of someone, in support of someone, or for yourself, your presence truly matters.
