Palliative care and hospice are often misunderstood, leading many individuals and families to miss valuable support. This session provides a practical overview of both services, highlighting their goals, key differences and the ways they can improve quality of life for people living with serious illness and those who care for them.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to 

Explain what palliative care is and how it helps people with serious illness live as well as possible. Identify key differences between palliative care and hospice care Recognize when palliative care may be helpful for patients and families facing serious illness
