Event Details
Join us for a fascinating talk by Dr. Lee Alan Dugatkin, evolutionary biologist and historian of science at the University of Louisville, and author of 17 books. Drawing on his latest book, Nary a Horse Left Standing, Dr. Dugatkin explores the Great Epizootic of 1872–73, a devastating horse flu epidemic that swept across North America. Discover how this little-known crisis disrupted urban life, threatened livelihoods, halted transportation, and reshaped medicine, animal welfare, and the modern city. Tuesday, October 20, SRB 139 1:00-2:00 p.m.
