Student Involvement understands the importance of helping students cultivate their leadership skills to empower them to reach their greatest potential. Therefore, we offer programs that promote skill development in the following areas: Career & Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Technology. We offer four distinct programs which students may choose to participate in as early as their first year. Cards LEAD The Cards LEAD Program is a leadership development exclusive to first-year students with the mission to create a platform for participants to lead and make a positive impact on campus, fostering a culture of service and leadership excellence. Participants of this program will have the option to undergo one of two leadership education tracks in Service Learning or Event Management. Applications for the 2024-2025 Cohort are now closed. Advance UofL The Advance UofL Leadership Program is a leadership development exclusive to first-year students with the mission to guide participants in developing leadership skills, creating impactful initiatives, and building a sense of community and empowerment among program members. Participants of this program will have the option to undergo one of two leadership education tracks in University Engagement & Impact or Governance & Reform. Applications for the 2024-2025 Cohort are now closed. Trailblazer Leadership Institute Join the Trailblazer Leadership Institute to take your leadership skills to the next level. Through a series of interactive sessions based on the Social Change Model of Leadership Development, you'll learn how to make a meaningful impact on campus and beyond. Earn badges as you complete the themes of Individual Values, Group Values, and Social and Community Values, and choose from in-person or virtual sessions to fit your schedule. Don't miss this opportunity to become a leader who makes a difference! This is a great program for upperclassmen wanting to enhance their leadership capabilities or first-year students who are looking for an alternative to Cards LEAD and Advance UoL. National Society of Leadership and Success Sophomores and above choose to participate in program activities that help them achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact on their communities. Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society Rising juniors and above with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA may apply for this prestigious national honor society, which honors and develops leaders through scholarships, workshops, career development, leadership resources, and a lifelong connection to other members.
