It shall be the primary purpose(s) of this organization to: a) Representation of minorities and promote professional development in the areas of research, academic excellence in the sciences. b) Create professional opportunities for members to excel in their academic/professional career. c) To advocate scientific and medical research and voice our knowledge to the general public in individual settings. d) Provide their members the opportunity to be part of one or both nationally recognized societies/chapters: Phi Sigma National Biological Sciences Honor Society and Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
