 CIEHS) and Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology invite you to the next 
 Environmental Health Science seminar with Jennifer L. Freeman titled “I
 nfluence of a developmental lead (Pb) exposure on outcomes related to Alzh
 eimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) throughout the lifespan." 
 This seminar will take place on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. ET.
  \n\nJennifer L. Freeman is a Professor of Toxicology in the School of He
 alth Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She received a P
 h.D. in Environmental Toxicology and Molecular Cytogenetics from the Unive
 rsity of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She did her postdoctoral work at Ha
 rvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. The inter
 ests of the Freeman laboratory are to define the underlying genetic and ep
 igenetic mechanisms of toxicity of environmental stressors in the developm
 ental origin of health and disease (DOHaD) paradigm. Current research proj
 ects are focused on metals, pesticides, PFAS, radiation, and other legacy 
 and emerging contaminants. These projects are defining the immediate adver
 se impacts of a developmental exposure, the lasting adverse impacts of thi
 s developmental exposure throughout the lifespan, and/or the analysis of s
 ubsequent generations linking genetic, epigenetic, phenotypic, and behavio
 ral assessments. These studies are investigating a developmental origin of
  disease pathogenesis with a specific focus on neurodegenerative disorders
  (Alzheimer’s disease/Parkinson’s disease), neuroendocrine dysfunction
  and downstream impacts to endocrine axes, and cancer with a goal of under
 standing the role of exposure to the environmental chemicals in these adve
 rse health outcomes. All projects use the zebrafish vertebrate model syste
 m as a model for translation to human health.
