DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first Axton Reading Series event of the semeste
 r as we host nonfiction writer and poet Lesley Jenike. \n\nLesley Jenike 
 is the author of the essay collection City of Toys as well as full-lengt
 h poetry collections Ghost of Fashion (CW Books) and Holy Island (Gol
 d Wake), and chapbooks How We Came Ashore (Dancing Girl Press) and Pu
 nctum : (Kent State University Press, 2017). Her poems and essays have 
 appeared or will appear soon in Poetry, The Kenyon Review, At Length, NEL
 LE, phoebe, The Bennington Review, The Southern Review, The Gettysburg Rev
 iew, Rattle, Smartish Pace, Waxwing, Blackbird, Passages North, and many 
 other journals. She's the recipient of awards, fellowships, and scholarshi
 ps from the Ohio Arts Council, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the 
 Vermont Studio Center, the Sewanee Writers' Conference, and the Academy of
  American Poets. She was awarded an M.F.A. from The Ohio State University 
 in 2003 and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 2008. She's curre
 ntly a regular blogger for Ploughshares as well as Associate Professor o
 f Writing, Literature, and Philosophy at the Columbus College of Art and 
 Design in Columbus, Ohio where she lives with her husband and two childre
 n. \n\nAlong with the reading, there will be a public workshop on Sept. 1
 1, 10 a.m. to noon, in MITC 201, followed by a closing reception from noon
  to 1 p.m. in the same place.
