DESCRIPTION:Dr. Junhyoung Kim is a tenured Associate Professor in the Depar
 tment of Health Behavior at the Texas A&M University School of Public Heal
 th and Director of the Smart Aging and Gerontechnology (SAGE) Lab. His res
 earch focuses on developing and evaluating technology-based interventions 
 to promote healthy aging, enhance dementia care, and improve the quality o
 f life of older adults and their caregivers. His work spans virtual realit
 y, socially assistive robots, artificial intelligence, mobile health techn
 ologies, and digital therapeutics, supported by funding from the National 
 Institutes of Health (NIH), ARPA-H, and other funding agencies.\n\nDr. Kim
  will provide an overview of emerging technology applications for older ad
 ults living with dementia, highlighting how innovative technologies can su
 pport cognitive health, mental well-being, physical function, and independ
 ent living. The presentation will place particular emphasis on immersive v
 irtual reality interventions for health promotion, including recent resear
 ch on nature-based and exercise-focused VR programs designed to enhance ph
 ysical activity, reduce psychological distress, and improve quality of lif
 e among older adults with cognitive impairment.
