DESCRIPTION:AI can help a student script a video, draft a podcast outline o
r generate an infographic layout. What it cannot do is make the judgment c
alls that come from actually knowing something, caring about a specific au
dience or having a perspective worth sharing. This session introduces the
friction arc framework: the idea that the best media assignments are not d
esigned to block AI, they are designed to require the kind of human thinki
ng AI cannot replicate. We will look at how to identify the decision point
s in a communication task where student judgment is irreplaceable, and how
to build your assignment around those moments.\n\nThis live session will
be virtual via Microsoft Teams. Please register for the event to receive t
he Teams link.\n\nThis session kicks off the Media and Communication Serie
s and sets up the three format-specific sessions that follow.
