Workshop: Assignment & Rubric Design

Join the University Writing Center for a workshop on writing assignment and rubric design. Both of these documents work in tandem to guide students through the writing expectations of your course. How can the assignment instructions and rubric most successfully communicate the task at hand to a student audience? How might you create a method of evaluation aligned with your course goals and your discipline? In this session, Dr. Annmarie Steffes, the Associate Director of the Writing Center, will discuss strategies for thinking about these pieces rhetorically, considering your students’ needs on the receiving end of this document. Cross-disciplinary conversations are encouraged here to share best practices. The session will take place in the University Writing Center in Ekstrom Library 132 and will also be accessible through Teams.
