UofL BE Seminar Series: Dr. Jonathan Kopechek: The Impact of Generative AI Technologies on Research and Education in Bioengineering: New Challenges and Opportunities

Humanity is on the cusp of a major societal transformation spurred by the development of new generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies. As with all new technologies, GenAI presents new opportunities to accelerate and improve workflow, but also raises new challenges and risks. This interactive seminar will provide specific examples of GenAI tools that can be used to enhance research and education activities in Bioengineering. Potential risks and pitfalls of using GenAI tools for research and education will also be discussed. This seminar will illustrate how appropriate and effective use of GenAI tools can potentially accelerate research productivity and could also enhance the quality of learning for students.
