PLAN Workshop- Time Management and Organization for the New Year

Do you have piles of articles to read? Do you miss getting more than a few hours of sleep a night regularly? Do you have trouble remembering the last time you spent quality time with friends or family? Managing time during graduate school can be incredibly challenging, but there are ways to better balance the scales. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to better manage their time, leaving with suggestions, resources, and a plan for putting their own balancing system in place.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Consider a Backward Design framework for managing their time; 2. Practice strategies for effectively planning their time; 3. Review tips and tools for organization and time management; 4. Select items to practice organization and time management.

Presenter Bio:

Michelle Rodems, Ph.D., is director for graduate student professional development for the School of Interdisciplinary and Grad, retention, and success in the Graduate School. Michelle manages all interdisciplinary professional development for more than 4,000 University of Louisville graduate students, including coordinating the PLAN professional development framework of academies, workshops, learning communities, and reading groups, as well as conducting individual consultations. Michelle’s research and professional interests include teaching and learning in higher education, graduate student development and education, educational technology and social media, and professional development in higher education.
