The Struggle is Real: Mental Health and Intersectionality
This event will cover the intersection of diverse aspects of identity (race, social class, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) with mental illness and it will be a space where people feel safe to be honest and share their stories. The Counseling Center will speak on mental health resources available on campus. Dr. Christopher from the Sociology department will discuss the impact of masculinity on men's mental health. A panel featuring students from a variety of backgrounds will share personal stories of coping with mental illness.
