Economics professor Beth Munnich will present this three-session lunch and learn series examining economic concepts through the music and business savvy of pop superstar Taylor Swift. The series is free and open to undergraduate (or graduate) students in all majors, and Swifties and non-Swifties alike. Participants may attend one, two or all three sessions.

Monday, October 13: Look What You Made Me Do: The Economics Behind our Everyday Choices. Discover how Taylor's impact and lyrics help explain key economic concepts like supply and demand, scarcity and opportunity cost. 

Monday, October 27: Bad Blood or Good Karma? Market Power and Monopolies. Explore how Taylor used her market power to take on the music industry, and her lasting impact for other artists.

Monday, November 17: Bejeweled: How Taylor Makes the Whole Economy Shimmer. Examine Taylor's influence on local economies, the music industry and even the football market - where her presence has driven record-breaking viewership, merchandise sales and fan engagement. 

SWIFTONOMICS is co-presented by the College of Business Economics Department and the Center for Free Enterprise.
