This seminar will address the interface between the human microbiome and the host immune system which contributes to health or disease.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Gaya Amarasinghe, Washington University
Filoviral infections lead to rare, but often lethal outbreaks. Molecular mechanisms and host-viral interactions that contribute to diseases and developments in therapeutics will be discussed. Dr. Amarasinghe's lecture will be followed by three, 15-20 minute presentations by UofL researchers: Dr. Venkatakrishna Jala, Dr. Matt Lawrenz, and Dr. Juhi Bagaitkar
