http://louisville.edu/graduate/planDescription. Visiting scholar Dànielle DeVoss will focus on some of the writing contexts of and types of data displays and visualization approaches. This workshop is open to graduate students and composition instructors who want to learn more about uses of data visualization and available digital tools. This event will also include optional post-workshop "play" time from 3:30pm - 5pm.
*Availability for this workshop is limited to 10 graduate students outside of English, and registration will close on Friday, November 6th. If you are interested in attending, please register on the PLAN website.
Presenter(s). Dr. Dànielle DeVoss is Professor of Professional Writing in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures at Michigan State University. She teaches courses in digital and visual rhetorics, and her research asks us to consider the possibilities of multimodal composition (including text, graphics, sound, and moving images) in constructing and shaping our personal and professional identities. Dr. DeVoss is currently the Thomas R. Watson Scholar-in-Residence for Fall 2015 in the Department of English at the University of Louisville.
