Whether you’re riding in an elevator with members of a job search committee, pitching your research as part of a grant proposal, or helping the public to understand the importance of your work, you’ll need to be prepared to talk about your areas of expertise. Sharing the story of your research requires telling the narrative of your process, the significance of your research to others, and your personal engagement with your research. In this interactive session, participants will learn how to share their knowledge and experience in 2 to 5 minutes. As part of the session, graduate students will get an opportunity to think about how they talk about themselves and their research. This workshop is particularly beneficial for students who will be defending a thesis or dissertation, those going on the job market soon, or those interested in competing in the 3MT competition.
