About this Event
100 E. Main Street , Kentucky 40202
http://www.louisvillevisualart.org/open-studio-weekendThe 2017 Open Studio Weekend tour features a juried exhibition at the Hite Art Institute's Cressman Center for Visual Arts. More than forty artworks, selected from over 200 submissions, will be revealed during the Open Studio launch party on November 3, 2016, 6-8 p.m. The exhibition was judged by three regionally renowned curators: Susan Tinney, Owner of Tinney Contemporary in Nashville, TN; Cal Cullen, Executive Director of Wave Pool gallery in Cincinnati, OH; and Sarah Brown, Gallery Director at Parachute Factory in Lexington, KY.
Open Studio Weekend Tour is an event organized by Louisville Visual Art and the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville to raise funds for LVA's signature program, Children's Fine Art Classes, and the Hite Art Institute's Mary Spencer Nay Scholarship program.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to visit artist studios, see artists at work, get a glimpse into their process, and in some cases, take advantage of studio sales. Visitors create their own self-guided tour using the printed or mobile-friendly directory. Whether you're a fan, a collector, a fellow artist or just starting to explore this bustling scene, Open Studio Weekend is a very exciting (and efficient!) way to celebrate Louisville's creative community.
