Louisville artists 1200, Ben Sollee, Hannah Drake, and Daniel Martin Moore will perform poems written by girls in Louisville’s Youth Detention Services. The poems are published in a new anthology from Sarabande Books titled One Day I’ll Rise — releasing the same night.

The poems' writers can’t take the stage themselves, but we believe they deserve to be heard. So these powerful artists will literally lend their voices to young women, setting some of the poems to new original music. They'll perform some of their own work as well.
