About this Event
2215 S. 3rd Street, Louisville, KY 40208
This exhibition is a retrospective of Pat McDonogh’s photographic career, 50 years in the making. McDonogh has thoroughly documented life in Louisville, Kentucky and beyond through his dedication to photojournalism and community photographic efforts. McDonogh was an essential member of the Louisville Courier-Journal photography staff from 1983 to 2022, serving as photo editor from 2005 to 2015. One of McDonogh’s final contributions to the legacy of the Courier-Journal was to ensure that the massive archive of photographic material created by staff photographers would be preserved for future generations at the University of Louisville Archives & Special Collections. This exhibition combines photographs selected by McDonogh from his personal archive, including images shot for the Elizabethtown News-Enterprise and the Kentucky Documentary Photography Project, to demonstrate the photographer’s documentary instincts.
