For more than a decade, the LGBT Center has hosted Alternative Thanksgiving, as a way to create a space for LGBTQ+ students to experience the unconditional love and support that comes from being part of an inclusive, campus community. We especially honor those LGBTQ+ students who have found a family of friends at UofL because their families of origin are unwelcoming.

COVID-19 caused us to cancel last year, but we are happy to announce the return of Alternative Thanksgiving, 2021. The event will include a catered meal, brief program and recognition of December graduates.

Important Note: Due to COVID-19, this year's event will be on a smaller scale and is not open to the broader community. Please help spread the word by sharing directly with students, faculty, and staff, especially with those LGBTQ+ students who may not have an affirming place to go for the break.
