Leslie Jamison is the Anne and William Axton Keynote at the 2017 Writer's Block Festival.

Leslie Jamison is the author of The Empathy Exams, a New York Times bestselling essay collection, and a novel, The Gin Closet, a finalist for the LA Times First Fiction Award. Her work has appeared in the New York Times MagazineHarper'sVirginia Quarterly ReviewThe Believer, and the New York Times Sunday Book Review, where she is a columnist. She lives in Brooklyn and teaches at Columbia University. Her books have been published in the UK, Brazil, Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Korea, and China. Her next book, The Recovering, will be published in Spring 2018.
