DESCRIPTION:Brian Sholis will speak about his current exhibition at the Cin
 cinnati Art Museum\, the artists who are reimagining the genre of street ph
 otography for the twenty-first century\, and the legal\, ethical\, politica
 l\, and architectural implications of cameras’ omnipresence in our public s
 paces.  \n\nBrian Sholis is Associate Curator of Photography at the Cincinn
 ati Art Museum. In 2014 he has organized the exhibitions “Portraits of the 
 Artist\,” “Building Pictures: Architectural Photographs by Édouard Baldus\,
 ” “Eyes on the Street\,” and “Big Pictures\,” a citywide public-art project
  featuring photography on billboards. Prior to joining the museum he was on
  the editorial staff of Aperture Foundation\, where he helped redesign and 
 relaunch Aperture magazine on its 60th anniversary\, and of Artforum. His w
 riting on photography\, landscapes\, and American history has appeared in d
 ozens of magazines\, as well as in exhibition catalogues published by the M
 useum of Modern Art\, the Whitney Museum of American Art\, the New Museum (
 all in New York)\, the Musée Moderne de la Ville de Paris\, and the Moderna
  Museet in Stockholm\, among others. He holds a B.A. from Boston University
  and an M.A. in American History from the City University of New York’s Gra
 duate Center.
