Last year, Alexander Hamilton bested Thomas Jefferson for the title. This year, we invite the audience to decide between John Adams and James Madison.
R. B. Bernstein, Lecturer at City College of New York's Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, will defend #TeamAdams. He specializes in constitutional history and has written about Constitutional amendments, the making of the Constitution and the life of Thomas Jefferson. He is the author of a forthcoming biography of John Adams.
David T. Konig, PhD, Professor of History and Professor of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, will defend #TeamMadison. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in Anglo-American legal history, with a focus on property law, the Second Amendment and the law of freedom and slavery. He is a leading authority on Thomas Jefferson and the development of law in colonial, Revolutionary, and early national America.
