UofL's YUM! Center for Global Franchise Excellence and the Center for Free Enterprise are joining forces to present this discussion on bringing economic prosperity to underserved communities, especially through franchise opportunities. 

Joining center leaders Kathleen Gosser (YCGFE) and Steve Gohmann (CFE) for this fireside chat will be Damien Dwin and Wanda Williams, both with successful careers in finance and franchising.

Damien Dwin is Founder and CEO of Lafayette Square, an impact investment firm that that works with local partners to create an inclusive American economy. Damien is an active thought leader on place-based investing, mass incarceration, and the use of capitalism for good. He has written for Financial Times, Entrepreneur, and Inc.com.  Damien was featured on a recent episode of the YCFGFE’s FranchiseU! podcast. Listen to hear about his interesting background and his professional perspective on business funding.

Wanda Williams is Head of Global Franchising at YUM! Brands, Inc. She oversees YUM's  franchise system management and partners with more than 150 global Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Habit Burger markets, and 2000+ franchises around the world. Wanda spearheaded the launch of UofL's YUM! Center for Global Franchise Excellence in 2021 to unlock opportunities to level the franchising playing field, creating pathways to entrepreneurship for the underrepresented.
