http://louisville.edu/liberalstudiesThe Liberal Studies Project presents the talk “Homegrown History” by Jessica Dawkins, Chief Executive Officer of Historic Locust Grove and A&S alumna. A seasoned museum professional and local historian, Dawkins brings nearly two decades of experience interpreting 19th-century Ohio Valley history. Her career includes leadership roles at Farmington Historic Home, the Portland Museum, the Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites, the Kentucky Historical Society, and Liberty Hall Historic Site. Currently heading Locust Grove—a National Historic Landmark established in 1792—she oversees programs that preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of early Kentucky and the Ohio River Valley. Dawkins has served on numerous nonprofit boards and has been recognized as one of Business First’s 20 People to Know in Tourism & Hospitality and as a New Albany Hometown Hero
