CANCELED: Green Heart Tree Planting
NOTE: This event has been canceled. For the latest information on the university's response to the COVID-19 situation, visit https://louisville.edu/campushealth/information/coronavirus.
Please join UofL, Louisville Grows, and our Southside neighbors in the Taylor-Berry, Jacobs, Hazelwood, Beechmont, Oakdale, and Wilder Park neighborhoods as we dig toward our goal of planting 1000 trees this season!
We need 250+ volunteers on the day of the planting. No experience is necessary—everyone is welcome to come play in the dirt with us. Our Citizen Foresters will be there to lead you in becoming a proper tree planter!
A light breakfast and full lunch will be provided to all volunteers.
Louisville Grows will provide gloves and water bottles.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. Waterproof outerwear is recommended if rain is forecasted. You'll be digging in dirt and handling mulch, so please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toed shoes are required.
Those unable to do the physical labor can volunteer to help as registration, breakfast, and lunch volunteers.
This planting will be the third in partnership with Green Heart Louisville, a UofL study that seeks to determine how increased green space affects health and relationships within these neighborhoods. A greener community is a healthier community!
