The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 to recipients to offset the cost of their study abroad program. The online application consists of demographic and educational information plus two essays. Attend this information session to learn more about the scholarship and how to apply. To be eligible, an applicant must be:

1. A citizen of the US;

2. An undergraduate student in good standing;

3.  Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program;

4. In the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship programs of at least three weeks duration.

5. Applying for a credit-bearing study abroad program in a country with an overall Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2 according to the US Department of State's Travel Advisory System
