This talk will explore the evidence, research, and importance of the Food is Medicine movement, examine how nutrition insecurity contributes to health disparities between social classes, provide an overview on integrating food and nutrition interventions into healthcare systems, and describe how policies can support access to reimbursable nutrition services.
Dr. Mozaffarian's work aims to create the science and translation for a food system that is nutritious, equitable, and sustainable. Some of his areas of interest include healthy diet patterns, nutritional biomarkers, Food is Medicine interventins in health care, nutrition innovation and entrepreneurship, and food policy.
