Description:

In this workshop, participants will learn how physical activity benefits whole person well-being: body, mind and spirit. We will discuss ways to incorporate movement into busy schedules and how to sustain a fitness regimen. Participants will practice chair yoga and learn about fitness resources available through UofL.

Outcomes:

  • Participants will practice chair yoga through slow poses that can be done during work or study breaks.
  • Participants will learn about the various fitness resources at UofL.

 

Presenter's BIO :

Jenna Orwick received a BA in psychology & sociology and is  currently seeking a MPH with a concentration in Health Behavior & Promotion. She currently works in the Health Promotion Office, a division of Campus Health Services. As a coordinator at the UofL Health Promotion Office she  works with UofL students on ways to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Specifically, she oversees the Fitness & Movement, Sleeping & Napping, and Stress Resilience services and programs that Health Promotion offers! Additionally, she is  a Koru Mindfulness Teacher and uses this expertise to teach UofL students about the benefits of mindfulness and meditation and how to incorporate this in their daily lives to increase with resilience and overall wellbeing.
