Dr. Jenifer Gamble has worked to improve policies, systems, and services for the most vulnerable throughout the US and globally since 1997. Gamble currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work and previously served as Assistant Dean and Director of Field Education and Experiential Learning. She is also former faculty of West Virginia University School of Social Work and served as Director of Field Education (2018-2022). She holds a BA, MSSW, and PhD degrees from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville, respectively.
Gamble’s domestic nonprofit experiences focused on eliminating gender-based violence and improving criminal justice and victim service programs throughout the US. While living and working in Washington, DC, she focused on global and girls’ education policy and worked with numerous high-level offices, including the Office of the First Lady Michelle Obama and the US Department of State Office of Global Women’s Issues. She has held leadership positions with national and local organizations, such as the Brookings Institution and the National Alliance to End Homelessness. She is board secretary for Advancing Girls Education in Africa, board secretary for Finn Church Aid Americas, and a previous Ambassador (WV and KY) for the United State of Women. She often consults with organizations around social entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and growth, and is an avid traveler and lives in Louisville, KY.
