CMP Faculty Recital: Denine Leblanc, piano
Dr. Denine LeBlanc teaches piano at the University of Louisville in the School of Music Community Music Program, as well as music in the city’s public school system, where she has taught for over twenty years. “For Michelle,” Dr. LeBlanc’s third album, is a memorial album for her late sister, the esteemed equine specialist, Dr. Michelle LeBlanc. Dr. LeBlanc’s previous albums, “The Sun Shines Bright” and “Weep no More,” feature original piano music by Kentucky composers. She has played both traditional and contemporary concerts throughout the United States as well as abroad in Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Poland. In 2016, Dr. LeBlanc organized "les six", a sextet of wind instruments and piano. The ensemble creates opportunities to play a body of chamber music that is seldom performed.
Dr. LeBlanc holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and music history from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Masters of Music degree from the University of Louisville and a Bachelors of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
