UofL's Center for Integrative Environmental Health Sciences and the Pharmacology & Toxicology Departement welcome special guest Marcelo G. Bonini, PhD to speak for the monthly Environmental Health Series Seminar. Dr. Binini's presentation is entitled "Electrochemical determinants of cellular phenotypic transitions". Bonini is a professor of medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University in Chicago. He also serves as the Associate Director for Education and Training at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. His research is mainly focused on mechanisms connecting redox signaling, redox-dependent chromatin remodeling and transcriptomic changes that facilitate cancer cell phenotypic transitions. His research is currently by multiple NIH R01 awards, the Department of Defense and philanthropic funds from the Lefkofsky Foundation.
