About this Event
Please join the Center for Integrative Environmental Health Sciences (CIEHS) and the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology on September 7, 2023 at 11 AM ET for the next Environmental Health Science series seminar with special guest speaker, Dr. Thomas J. Begley. Seminar entitled “Stressing Out with the Epitranscriptome, Implications for Exposure Biology and Human Disease".
Dr. Thomas J. Begley is a Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences and Director of Training for the RNA Science and Technology Program at the RNA Institute at the University at Albany, SUNY. The Begley lab works at the interfaces of how nucleic acid biology, chemistry, and computation can improve human health. A major focus of current studies centers on how RNA modifications, which comprise the epitranscriptome, are collectively reprogrammed in response to environmental stress, pharmaceuticals, and diseased states to translationally regulate key proteins.
