The Liberal Studies Program presents talk on boredom by Carrie Anne Marshall, Professor and Director of the Social Justice in Mental Health Research Lab at Western University. Individuals who experience homelessness face profound social exclusion in society, including the right to participate in activities that are meaningful. This presentation will provide an overview of research on the topic of boredom during and following homelessness, and will advance the notion that the social and institutional environments in which an individual is embedded are responsible for creating the conditions for boredom to emerge.
