A free, 30-minute talk by Jamie Young, Ph.D., UofL assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology, about the effects of “forever chemicals,” per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances known as PFAS that break down very slowly in the environment. Recent news coverage and the movie “Dark Waters” have brought attention to their presence in the environment, food products and the blood of people and animals. Young studies PFAS and their implications for human health and disease at UofL.
