Carol Anderson, associate professor of African American Studies and history at Emory University, will present the 9th Annual Anne Braden Memorial Lecture titled"White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of Our Racial Divide." The talk builds upon her viral Washington Post essay "Ferguson isn't about black rage against cops. It's white rage against progress," which will also be the subject of her forthcoming book. Anderson’s research and teaching focus on public policy; particularly the ways that domestic and international policies intersect through the issues of race, justice and equality in the United States. She is the author of Eyes off the Prize: The United Nations and the African-American Struggle for Human Rights, 1944-1955, and of Bourgeois Radicals: The NAACP and the Struggle for Colonial Liberation, 1941-1960.
