The University Libraries are partnering with the Department of English, the Commission on Diversity & Racial Equity (CODRE), and the National Council of Teachers of English for the 35th National African American Read-In (AARI). Established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month, the AARI will be held at Ekstrom Library on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Participants from across campus and the community will read excerpts from works by their favorite Black authors. The event will have free books and book raffles, but individuals must be present to win.

To sign up for a reading time, please contact Joan D'Antoni at joan.dantoni@louisville.edu or 852-6801. Walk-ins are accepted.
