Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar heads Bangladesh’s electoral reform commission, the body tasked with reforming election laws after the country’s 2024 “Monsoon Revolution.” Dr. Majumdar is a long-time leader in Bangladesh’s civil society and good governance community. He has directed The Hunger Project-Bangladesh, and is the founder-Secretary of Shujan (Citizens for Good Governance), a civil society organization. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from Case Western Reserve University, and has taught at several international universities throughout his career. He is the subject of the recently-published biography, Today I Saw a Revolution: From Grassroots to Global Change, by Cathy Burke, and has published extensively in academic and journalistic outlets.
