Black or White or Yellow? How Asians are Racialized in America
While there is little question that Asians are a racialized minority in America, most of us cannot put our finger on quite how and why Asians are racialized. Do Asians fit somewhere on the racial spectrum from white to black? Or do they constitute a distinct third race? Do Asians belong in America, or are they "Perpetual Foreigners?" Why are they paradoxically either Invisible or Hypervisible? What does it mean to be an Over-represented Minority? An exploration of the history of Asians in America will give us answers to these perplexing questions.
