2018 Louisville Sustainability Summit
"Learning Together: Fostering a Culture of Sustainability"
Each year the Louisville Sustainability Summit brings together the community, its leaders, and local and national experts to engage and collaborate towards a sustainable Louisville.
This year the UofL Sustainability Council, the Louisville Sustainability Council, and the Metro Louisville Office of Sustainability will host the 5th annual Louisville Sustainability Summit on Friday, October 19th at UofL's newly renovated and expanded LEED Silver Student Activities Center. The theme for 2018 is "Learning Together: Fostering a Culture of Sustainability."
The Summit will feature:
- A morning keynote and book signing by sustainability and environmental pedagogy expert, Dr. David W. Orr
- Tours of sustainability on campus, including LEED buildings, urban agriculture projects, and the Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research
- Addresses by Mayor Fischer, UofL President Bendapudi, and Dr. Aruni Bhatnagar, director of UofL's Envirome Institute
- A performance by Hite Elementary School's Junkyard Hawks
- Updates from Metro Louisville's Office of Sustainability
- Community sustainability awards
- Networking and a local organization showcase
- Roundtable discussions during a community forum on how to create the future we want through a culture of sustainability.

The Summit will kick off a series of engaging activities on campus during UofL Sustainability Week. This is a UofL Sustainability Week event!
