Saturday, June 4 - Two Gentlemen of Verona

Resident Scenic and Lighting Designer
Professor Kevin Gawley’s work has been seen at the Lifeline Theatre – where he won the Jeff Citation for his design of Jane Eyre and the After Dark Award for his design of Strong Poison– the Organic, Porchlight, Theatre on the Lake, Metropolis, StoreFront, Loyola University Chicago, Revels Chicago, Midwest Jewish and at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival theatres. He taught at Loyola University Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before joining the faculty at UofL.
Sunday, June 19 – The Winter’s Tale
Hristomir Stanev, Department of English
Dr. Stanev specializes in early modern British literature and culture with a particular focus on Renaissance drama. His current research examines the intersection of metropolitan life and the human senses in the works of Shakespeare and his fellow playwrights. His articles have appeared in Postmedieval, ANQ, and Early Theatre, and is the author of Sensory Experience and the Metropolis on the Jacobean Stage (1603-1625). He comes to the University of Louisville from the University of Chicago.
Sunday, July 10 – Romeo and Juliet
Zhanna Goldentul, Department of Theatre Arts
Resident Costume Designer
After moving from Russia to the United Stated in 1992, Goldentul began working at UofL’s Theatre Arts Department designing costumes and teaching. She has designed costumes in Russia in the Old Drama Theatre and the Moscow Contemporary Theatre, as well as for various ballet companies. Zhanna is a member of the United Scenic Artists' Union 829 Local, and the Louisville Area Fabric and Textiles Association. She has designed costumes at StageOne Family Theatre and at Center Stage Jewish Community Center. Her costume design credits for UofL include: Metamorphoses, Once on This Island, Blues for an Alabama Sky, Gem of the Ocean, Othello, Hint!, and many more.
