Scale: Is America Too Big?

In this free, public McConnell Center talk, Donald Livingston, PhD, professor emeritus of philosophy at Emory University, will consider the scale of American democracy and whether downsizing or secession is desirable and/or feasible in the 21st century.

Livingston is the author of Rethinking the American Union for the Twenty-First Century and is considered an expert on the political philosophy and writings of the Scottish philosopher of David Hume.
